First Aid or React Right course.

The first aid or also called react right course is mandatory before you can become a stress and rescue diver. Time frame for this course is half a day. You do not have to do this first aid or react right course with SSI or any other diving organisation. You could provide prove of the course done with the red cross or any other international recognized first aid training organisation. This prove can not be older than 2 years and has to include CPR. Should you have this kind of certification than all you would need to do is bring the prove. In this case you could start right away with the Stress and Rescue course.

The first aid or react right course that are offered by SSI and other diving teaching systems are obviously streamlined to the diving topic and therefor highly recommended to do the tranining with a diving school. This is the first course that does not focus mainly on teaching you more ability to become a better diver but to see problems before they happen. A good Rescue diver is a diver that has the knowledge to help others but never needs to use it because he recognizes mistakes and danger before an accident happens. Obviously learning is much nicer on the beautiful island of Koh Tao than in a red cross course back home. Main objective in this course is to get the confidence to help other in a nice and playful environment. All to be able to help in a real life emergency.

The following topics will be covered:

Basic knowledge of first aid and the techniques
Acknowledge, prevention, and taking care of diver in shock
Simple Mouth to Mouth and the techniques how to use a pocket mask
The life saving CPR techniques
Defibrillator usage (AED – Automated External Defibrillator)
Use of barrier
Techniques how to spot spinal ingeries 
Both courses React Right and Stress and Rescue compliment each other. This is why we highly recommend to do both courses in combination with each other

Schedule and time frame for the React Right course:

11:00 meeting at the Dive Point training room.

Self study with the provided materials or online taring. This would be the React Right training Video, the react right book, and the knowledge reviews.

12:30 Classroom work with many practical role plays and going over the knowledge reviews.

16:00 Final Exam
